PAPELERÍA (o poesía): A lesson in English

This is the pencil, that is the window, the table
is there waiting for you in every dinner and very
conversation about communism, right thoughts and
religion, this is the flower inside a jar, there
are old and absurd books, guides to understand
the growing of rushes and flowers, here is the
dog, beware of dog who eats
sand, worms and light bulbs, beware
of pencils and tables and matches and fires much nearer-
over all beware of your trivial vision, your
poor enthusiasm, your mechanical vision.
Things could be more damaging. Things
finally will be
                       blurred
in the book of your life.
